Custom Switch Panel

Custom Switch Panel

First I removed the small tray/trim cover over the AUX tape deck
Then I pulled out the tape deck and un-hooked the harness connector
and tucked it back into the hole left by the tape deck.
I ran all my wires for my KC 100W Daylighters into this space just for this mod.

I put double stick tape all around the backside of the opening on the trim cover
Then I cut a piece of my Jack cover that I removed a few months ago,
(I pulled the assy out and put it and all the necessary hardware in my too box seen here)
The piece was just large enough to cover up the hole and overlap the tape
I drilled 2, 3/8"holes in it, and installed 2 switches, then pressed it over the hole.
I installed the trim cover to verify the piece was centered and look good, It did so
I removed it and hooked up the wires for my KC 100W Daylighters , re installed the
cover and I was set. I left the other switch for another project.
The switches I used are from Radio Shack, they are standard 30 amps swsitches and are lit
a bright red when the circut is on.

The assembly looks almost stock to me, and if I want I can
re-install my tape deck, none of the hardware for mounting it was damaged and
the harness is tucked back out of the way.

The last pic shows the SAFEST place to plumb wires through from the engine
compartment into the passenger compartment
