Performance Accessories 2" body lift

Performance Accessories 2" body lift

Before / After

I started with the "special instructions for ZR2 models", There was a
seperate sheet of paper in the directions with that in BIG letters.
Basically I had to drop the steering colum and modify the rear mounting holes.
Here is a pic of the colum dropped, with the steering wheel resting on the seat.

I had to elongate the 2 holes towards the back to the top of the mark left
by the washer behind the nut. This mod allowed the colum to drop at a steeper angle
towards the steering box, this is necessary to prevent the colum joints from
binding when turning the wheel.
Here is a close up pic of the holes after elongating, and ready for installation.

I left the colum down while lifting the body, that way I assembled it as it would
rest after the lift.

Now I removed the battery, battery tray, and front axle acutator, i did this because
there was a chance of pulling too hard on the cable going to the front axle.

Next I pulled off the front grille and front bumper (8 bolts W/ 15MM head, 4 on the
bumper and 2 on each side of the frame for the side support).

Now I was supposed to remove the rear bumper, instead I have a roll pan, and it didn't
have to come off, it's attached to the bed.
Now I lowered the spare, put it in the bed, and removed the spare hoist. I did this because
the spare showed 2" below the roll pan, after the lift, there would be 4" showing,
which is WAY too much

Now I removed the filler kneck to the gas tank, I put this aside to add the extension later

Next the fan shroud top had to come off, and the lower had to be un-latched from it's
bottom support clips. Also, the front skid plate had to come off to access the oil filter
adapter, the mounting bolts had to be removed so the lower fan shroud could be dropped
out of the way.

Now, before lifting the cab, I measured the distance from the cab to the bed on both sides.

Damm, It was off from the factory by 1/2 inch

I started lifting the drivers side of the cab first, than the passenger side.
Here are the body mounts, Lifting the cab, and after the lifting blocks were installed

Here the cab is lifted, and the bed is at the stock height, weird huh?
