Installing KC 100W Daylighters

Installing KC 100W Daylighters

I installed a set of KC hilightes 100W 6" round Daylighters on my Smittybuilt Bumper Thumper they didn't really fit so I had to modify them, here is how I installed them and how I modifyed them to fit

The first pic is the lamp, as it comes out of the box. The next shows how I flipped the cup between the top mount plate and lamp, the left lamp is installed allready. The cup has to be flipped because the light is too tall to fit into the BT. I had to install some double stick tape to hold the light up while tightening the mount bolt, also to cushion the light from the BT, the clearance is very tight. the actual mounting is simple, Remove the bottom nut, remove the bottom mount plate, slip the lamp through the hole on the mount bar, re install the bottom mount plate and the nut and tighten. On mine, the tighter I got it, the more the lights sat level because the top bar was interfering (this is also the main reason for the double stick tape).

Here the Left light is mounted, you can see the tape, without it the light and bar would be touching. The second pic is with the lights fully mounted. The cables with the wiring in them went through the grille to the space in front of the radiator.
