Moving Front bumper forward

Moving Front bumper forward

I moved My front bumper Forward to try to clear my Bumper Thumper,
Which I should have done before I let the shop install it and cut my grille.
After I finished I noticed my tires stopped rubbing the front on full top out.
Here is how I did it.

Start by poping the hood, then carefully pull on the front grille, it will pop off,
be careful to remove the sockets to the turn signal lamps (1/4 turn and pull).
Then you must remove the front skid plate (15mm socket and rachet), this way you can
access the clips that the bolts go through, it also makes it easier to feel your way to
the bolts. Below you can see the bolts were removed that hold the front tow hooks on,
Theese don't really need to be removed, but it was necessary with the Bumper Thumper installed,
It also makes it easier to line up when re-installing the bumper.

Right, Center, and left. The mounting spots for the bumper with the bumper off.
here the slots are visible, I moved my bumper up a little also, by placing
2 thick allignment spacers where each of the the bolts go through from the top,
the outside mounts had to be loosened and adjusted at the frame,
there are slots where this mounted to the frame for up and down adjustments.

Before mounting the bumper back on the truck, the side alligner slots on the bumper
had to be cut to allow the higher position of the bumper.
The Right side shown below is un-cut, while the left is allready cut.

When installing the bumper, start all the bolts only 2-3 threads, then pull on the bumper hard
towards the front of the truck, this will move all the mount bolts, and clips, full forward.
Snug-up only the 4 front mount bolts, then have a buddy pull up the ends a bit and tighten the side
bolts one side at a time, starting with the ones that hold the side mount brackets to the frame,
then the bracket to the bumper bolts, then tighten the 4 center bolts and re install the skid plate,
Then you're set!

Before / After
Look at the bolt position and compare it to the edge of the grille.
